KING CHARLES TOWER.

The Details: King Charles Tower is one of the more evocative stops on Chester's city walls. It is tied to the Civil War story of the city and offers that brilliant Chester mixture of elevated views, old stone, and layered history. If you are walking the walls, it is worth slowing down here rather than treating it as just another section of the route.

“Located on the north-eastern side of the city walls. There are a series of steps leading up to the entrance to King Charles Tower. Although entrance to within the tower itself is not permitted, you do get a good view from atop the stairs leading up.”
